24. Paris Women in Machine Learning & Data Science @ManoMano

March 16 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

The Women in Machine Learning & Data Science (WiMLDS) Meetup aims to inspire, educate, regardless of gender, and support women and gender minorities in the field. We are back for our 24th edition!

We will be giving away the new WiMLDS Paris tee-shirts to our members.

All genders may attend our meetups.

19:00 – Introduction by ManoMano & the Paris WiMLDS team

19:25 – “Federated Learning: Learn from everyone without learning about anyone” by Maribeth Rauh, Research Engineer @ Deep Mind & Silvia Vinyes, Software Engineer @ Google

Abstract: Federated Learning is a machine learning technique for training and evaluating models without any sensitive data leaving a user’s device. In this talk, we will walk through how this technique works, as well as provide resources for participants to dive deeper.

19:50 – “Machine Learning for personalised healthcare: a human-centred approach” by Danielle Belgrave, Principal Researcher @ Microsoft Research Cambridge

Abstract: Machine learning advances are opening new routes to more precise healthcare, from the discovery of disease subtypes for stratified interventions to the development of personalised interactions supporting self-care between clinic visits. This offers an exciting opportunity for machine learning techniques to impact healthcare in a meaningful way. In this talk, I will present recent work on probabilistic graphical modelling frameworks to enable a more personalised approach to healthcare, whereby information can be aggregated from multiple sources within a unified modelling framework. The work presented will be motivated within the clinical contexts of asthma, allergic diseases and mental health.

20:15 – “Cyberactivism : How to fix biases” by Fanchon Mayaudon-Courtel, Founder of SEO Lesbienne

Abstract : Coming soon

20:45 – Networking / Cocktail

During the event, you can share content using #WiMLDSParis & @WiMLDS_Paris
