Data Engineering Melbourne Meetup Feb 2020

February 27 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Let’s do some more data engineering talks, networking and knowledge sharing!

Speaker : Richard Morwood

Topic 1: Semi-Structured Data in Snowflake

Abstract : In this session we will show you how data is loaded in near real-time and stored in Snowflake, and made ready for fast querying. Next we’ll explore how Snowflake deals with Semi-Structured Data and how we can perform advanced analysis over the top – without ever having to tell Snowflake the structure of our data

About Richard
Richard loves solving puzzles and storytelling. He loves his career as it enables him to combine both of these passions together by first exploring and analysing datasets to find how they fit together, then finding the best way to tell the story it holds. He is currently a Solution Architect with Snowflake, helping companies get the most out of their data fast and cost efficiently.

Message to the Audience:

We will also have time after the talk(s) for a community noticeboard where folks will have around 60 seconds to pitch their wares – if you’ve got an awesome data job going or you are available to fill an awesome job or even that you’ve found a great open source tool that we should all be contributing to, this will be the time to let us know!

Future Talks:

Let us know if you’ve got something to talk about for the future meetups. Talks can run anywhere from 5-30 min. All skill levels welcome to present something – just about everything is new to someone!
