Data Engineering Melbourne Meetup January 2020
January 30 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Let’s do some more data engineering talks, networking and knowledge sharing!
Topic: Making Kafka Dance
Kafka is one of the event streaming platforms that has been used in so many use cases. In this session, we will explain another use case for Kafka platform in the microservices world.
In the HTTP REST API services, we need to handle many different issues like availability, dependency, scalability etc.We will see how event-driven choreographed services could help us avoid those common issues and by leveraging Kafka platform we can implement choreographed microservices that are more resilient and scalable using different implementation patterns and thus address those challenges
We will also share some best practices when adopting an event-driven architecture with Kafka.
Speaker: Hussein Moussa

Message to the Audience:
We will also have time after the talk(s) for a community noticeboard where folks will have around 60 seconds to pitch their wares – if you’ve got an awesome data job going or you are available to fill an awesome job or even that you’ve found a great open source tool that we should all be contributing to, this will be the time to let us know!
Let us know if you’ve got something to talk about for the future meetups. Talks can run anywhere from 5-30 min. All skill levels welcome to present something – just about everything is new to someone!
